Content updates do not appear correctly in shadow folders in Visual SourceSafe (833827)



The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Visual SourceSafe, 32-bit, for Windows 6.0c

SYMPTOMS

If you rename a subproject in Microsoft Visual SourceSafe, the update does not automatically appear the shadow folder.

If you delete a subproject, the contents of shadow folder is deleted. However, the shadow folder is not deleted.

If you use a drag-and-drop operation to create a shared project, this change does not appear in the shadow folder.

RESOLUTION

A supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that this article describes. Apply it only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem.
