An application domain cannot unload when you call a Web service with SSL (833602)



The information in this article applies to:

SYMPTOMS

When you call a Web service by using SSL and an application domain must be unloaded while the call is in progress, the application domain does not unload, a System.CannotUnloadAppDomainException exception is thrown, and the Microsoft ASP.NET worker process may die.

Note An application domain may be unloaded for some reason that is unrelated to calling the Web service. For example, if the Web.config file is modified, the application domain may be unloaded.

RESOLUTION

Software update information

A supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that is described in this article. Only apply it to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix may receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, Microsoft recommends that you wait for the next Microsoft .NET Framework 1.0 service pack that contains this hotfix.
