Data is missing after you synchronize a Palm Handheld device with Entourage (833405)

SYMPTOMS

When you use the Microsoft Handheld Synchronization software to synchronize your Palm Handheld device with Microsoft Entourage X for Mac, there may not be any data in the following boxes in the following PalmOS programs.

In the Calendar program:

Event Categories
Event Locations

In the Tasks program

Alarm Task
Repeat Task

In the Contacts program

AOL Instant Messenger (AIM)
Web Site
Birthday

Additionally, the AIM pick list changes to an IM pick list.

In Entourage X, the following problems may occur:

In the Tasks program, the Reminder check box is not selected and Once Only is selected in the Occurs on list.
In the Contacts program, the AIM box, the Web Site box, and the Birthday box are not created for newly synchronized contacts in Microsoft Entourage X.

CAUSE

This problem occurs because Entourage X and Microsoft Handheld Synchronization are not designed to work with the following new PalmOS programs that are included on handheld devices such as the Tungsten E and Tungsten T3:

Calendar
Contacts
Memos
Tasks

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, use one of the following methods.

Use Earlier Palm Programs

If the following Palm OS 3.x or later programs are available on your handheld device, use the Microsoft Handheld Synchronization and Entourage X to synchronize data with them:

Datebook
Address Book
Memo Pad
To Do List

Use New PalmOS Programs

Continue to use the new PalmOS programs with Handheld Synchronization and Entourage X. However, you cannot use the following boxes in the following programs.

Calendar

Event Categories
Event Locations

Tasks

Alarm Task
Repeat Task

Contacts

AOL Instant Messenger (AIM)
Web Site
Birthday
