Updated scripting files available to migrate from Exchange 2000 Server Instant Messaging to Live Communications Server 2003 (833331)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server
- Microsoft Office Live Communications Server 2003
SYMPTOMSWhen you migrate from Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server Instant
Messaging to Microsoft Office Live Communications Server 2003, you may
experience any one of the following symptoms: - Scripts construct the Session Initiation Protocol (SIP)
Universal Resource Identifiers (URIs) inconsistently even if the migration
appears to succeed.
- When you rename the URI to use the Exchange Instant
Messaging account instead of the domain account name, the process fails with an event
log entry that indicates that the target URI is in use in the database.
- You receive a "Failed to perform LDAP Query for user"
message because an error in parsing logic occurs when you perform a Lightweight Directory Access Protocol
(LDAP)
search to retrieve attributes from a user object.
CAUSEThis problem occurs because the scripting files in Exchange
2000 Server Instant Messaging must be updated to migrate to Live Communications Server 2003. The
following four scripting files have been updated since Live
Communications Server 2003 shipped. These files are located in the Migration\ExchangeImMigration
folder on the Exchange 2000 Server CD-ROM. - Rtcimpac.wsf
- Rtcish.wsf
- Rtcmcon.wsf
- Rtcsipen.wsf
