A large solution takes a long time to load in Visual Studio .NET 2003 (832905)

SYMPTOMS

In Microsoft Visual Studio .NET 2003, if you open a large solution, the solution may take several minutes to load. This problem occurs when a solution contains 50 or more projects.

RESOLUTION

A supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that this article describes. Apply it only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem.
