Event ID 1000 warning messages are logged on the server each time that you perform an authoring action on a Web site (832881)
The information in this article applies to:
- FrontPage 2002 Server Extensions from Microsoft, when used with:
- Microsoft Windows Server 2003, Enterprise Edition
- Microsoft Windows Server 2003, Standard Edition
- Microsoft Windows Server 2003, Web Edition
SYMPTOMSWhen you open and edit a Web site that is located on a
Microsoft Windows Server 2003-based server, you may find that each time you
perform an authoring operation on that Web site, two Event ID 1000 warning
messages are logged to the application event log of the server. For example,
you may see events that are similar to the following when you view the
application event log on the server after you perform an authoring operation:

symptoms occur regardless of whether you use Microsoft Office FrontPage 2003,
Microsoft FrontPage 2002, or Microsoft FrontPage 2000 to open the Web site.
CAUSEThis problem may occur if all the following conditions are
true:
- FrontPage 2002 Server Extensions is installed on the
Windows Server 2003-based server.
- The virtual server that hosts the Web site that you are
authoring is extended with FrontPage 2002 Server Extensions.
- The Log authoring actions setting is
enabled on the virtual server (Web site).
WORKAROUNDTo work around this problem, turn off the Log
authoring actions setting on the virtual server. To do so, follow
these steps:
- Click Start, point to All
Programs, point to Administrative Tools, and then
click Microsoft SharePoint Administrator.
- On the Server Administration page, click
Administration next to the virtual server that you want to
configure.
- On the Virtual Server Administration page, under
Administration, click Change configuration
settings.
- On the Change Configuration Settings page, under
Security Settings, click to clear the Log authoring
actions check box, and then click Submit.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.
