FIX: HTTP 1.0 clients may fail to connect after you install BizTalk Server Service Pack 1 (832675)

SYMPTOMS

Microsoft BizTalk Server 2002 may not correctly recognize a graceful close from a HTTP 1.0 client (a close_notify alert) that is connecting over HTTPS. This problem may occur after you install BizTalk Server 2002 Service Pack 1. When this problem occurs, the following event log entry may be noted:

Timeout duration (seconds): 300 Error code:80004005 [0x0159] The server encountered a transport error while processing the messaging port "MS_HTTPS", which uses a transport component with a ProgID of "BizTalk.SendHTTPX.1". [0x012b] A transmission attempt failed.

RESOLUTION

A supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that this article describes. Apply it only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem.
