The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Windows XP Media Center Edition 2004
SYMPTOMSIn Microsoft Windows XP Media Center Edition 2004, when you try to set an Keyword Record of a Live TV category one time a day, you receive the following error message:
Can't Record
Too many programs were found with the Keyword Record Category. None of these programs will record.
The record setting for Category is too broad, or the keyword is too generic.
Try changing the record settings or the keyword so that fewer movies will be found.
Where Category is the type of program you have selected for recording, such as Movies.
CAUSEThis problem occurs because your criteria for a Keyword Record search returns more than 100 programs from the Guide even if the programs fall outside your other criteria. Media Center first determines whether you have more than 100 matches based on your search, and then applies the other criteria and other limitations that you selected.STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section of this article.
