SYMPTOMS
After you install Microsoft Windows XP
Service Pack 1, the Task Scheduler service may not start as expected. In this scenario,
your scheduled tasks do not run. Additionally, when you click
View Log on the
Advanced menu
in the Task Scheduler service, you see that the following error is logged to the Schedlgu.txt file:
Task scheduler fails to
start with 0x80041311 (SCHED_E_ACCOUNT_DBASE_CORRUPT)
0x8004130f: No
account information could be found in the Task Scheduler security database for
the task indicated.
RESOLUTION
Service pack information

Hotfix information
A supported hotfix is now available
from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that is
described in this article. Only apply it to systems that are experiencing this
specific problem. This hotfix may receive additional testing. Therefore, if you
are not severely affected by this problem, Microsoft recommends that you wait
for the next Windows XP service pack that contains this hotfix.

When you view the file information, it is converted to local time. To find the difference between UTC and local time, use the
Time Zone tab in the Date and Time tool in Control Panel.

Note After you apply this hotfix, you must either restart your
computer or restart the Task Scheduler service. To restart the Task Scheduler
service, follow these steps:
- Click Start, point to
Settings, and then click Control Panel.
- Double-click Services.
- In the list of services, click Task
Scheduler, click Stop, and then click
Yes when you are prompted to stop the Task Scheduler service.
- Click Start, and then click
Close.
