FIX: Server for Network File System (NFS) character translation is unsuccessful when the NFS client runs the "mv" command on a file that has a ":" in the file name (832541)

SYMPTOMS

In Microsoft Windows Services for UNIX 3.0, character translation is unsuccessful in Server for Network File System (NFS) when the NFS client runs the mv command on a file that contains the ":" character in the file name. When you try to run the mv command on the file, you receive the following error message:
Permission denied

CAUSE

This problem occurs because Server for NFS does not correctly interpret the character translation for the NFS "RENAME" procedure.

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, copy the file to the new location by running the cp command. Then, delete the file by using the rm command.
