SYMPTOMSWhen you insert an external media (for example, a USB memory stick or hard disk drive) that contains your pictures or multimedia videos, Microsoft Windows XP Media Center Edition may not detect the external media.CAUSEThis problem may occur if you run Media Center with the Now Playing window active.WORKAROUNDTo work around this problem, use any one of the following methods: - Insert your external media while you run Media Center in Full-Screen mode.
- When the AutoPlay menu appears, select the option to open with Media Center.
- Insert your external media, and then close and restart Media Center.
