SYMPTOMS
After you have been granted the
Reset
User Passwords and Force Password Change at Next Logon permission, and you log on
to a Microsoft Windows Server 2003 domain controller or a Microsoft Windows
XP-based computer that has the Windows Server 2003 Administration Tools Pack
installed, the following symptoms may occur:
- In Active Directory Users and Computers, when you right-click a
user name, and then click Reset Password, the User
must change password at next logon check box is
unavailable.
- In Active Directory Users and Computers, when you open Properties for
a user, the User must change password at next logon check box
is available on the Account tab.
RESOLUTION

Windows Server 2003 and Windows XP hotfix information
A supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft, but it is

Prerequisites
There is no requirement if you install this hotfix on Windows Server 2003. If you install this hotfix on Windows XP, Windows XP
Service Pack 1 is required.
