DisableFeatures property is incorrectly set equal to True after you save the document in Word 2002 and in Word 2003 (832349)

SYMPTOMS

When you try to use the DisableFeatures property in a Microsoft Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) macro in Microsoft Office Word 2003 or in Microsoft Word 2002, the DisableFeatures property may be set equal to True after you save the document.

CAUSE

This behavior may occur if you set the DisableFeatures property equal to False. When you do not programmatically use the features that are introduced after Microsoft Word 97, the DisableFeatures property may be incorrectly set to True.

RESOLUTION

There is currently no known resolution or workaround for this behavior.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.
