SYMPTOMS

When you use Microsoft Internet Explorer for Macintosh and you click a control that has been added to a Microsoft Content Management Server (MCMS) posting or to an MCMS template, the screen automatically refreshes. This behavior does not occur on Microsoft Internet Explorer for Windows.

CAUSE

Templates that contain an edit console output JavaScript that changes the action attribute of the form. Internet Explorer for Macintosh refreshes the page when the action attribute of the form has been changed in JavaScript and a user clicks a control that has been added to the form.

RESOLUTION

A supported fix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that is described in this article. Only apply it to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This fix may receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, Microsoft recommends that you wait for the next Content Management Server 2002 service pack that contains this hotfix.
