The retail versions of Microsoft Office 2003 Editions and individual products are available in the following two versions:
  • A new user version that you can install on any compatible computer that does not require that a qualifying product be installed on your computer.
  • An upgrade version that does require that a qualifying product be installed on your computer or that the installation media from the qualifying product be available when you run the Setup program.
