"Access Denied" error message when you install the Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 on the computer where Microsoft CRM is installed (832127)

SYMPTOMSIf you install the Microsoft Windows update for the Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 on your computer where Microsoft Business Solutions CRM is installed, Microsoft CRM users cannot gain access to the computer. A user who tries to gain access to Microsoft CRM receives the following error message: Access denied. 0x80040E4D Contact your administrator. CAUSEThis problem occurs because Microsoft CRM 1.0 does not support the.NET Framework 1.1.RESOLUTIONTo resolve this problem, remove the .NET Framework 1.1. You can have both the .NET Framework 1.0 and the .NET Framework 1.1 installed on your computer at the same time. When you remove the .NET Framework 1.1, Microsoft CRM automatically uses the .NET Framework 1.0 SP2 (the original configuration when you installed Microsoft CRM). Remove the .NET Framework 1.1To remove the .NET Framework 1.1 from the computer where Microsoft CRM is installed, follow these steps: - Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
- In Control Panel, double-click Add/Remove Programs.
- In the Add/Remove Programs dialog box, click Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1, and then click Remove.
Restart RequirementYou do not have to restart the computer after you remove the .NET Framework 1.1.
