PRB: Cursor Positioning Is Affected When the RespectVisibilityInDesign Parameter Is Used With the contentEditable Attribute (832003)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Internet Explorer (Programming) 6 (SP1)
SYMPTOMSWhen the RespectVisibilityInDesign parameter (the
IDM_RESPECTVISIBILITY_INDESIGN command ID) is activated
on a Web page in design mode
(the contentEditable attribute of the document is set to true) and you try to use the arrow keys, the cursor does not move
through the elements that have the display property set to none. However, you can position the cursor in position that you want by
clicking the mouse.WORKAROUNDTo work around this problem, you may set the visibility property to hidden on these elements instead of setting the display property.STATUS This
behavior is by design.REFERENCESFor more information, visit the following Microsoft
