Publisher 2002: "Cannot Connect to the Web Server" Error Message in Windows 98 (831769)

SYMPTOMS

When you try to create a Web folder on a computer that is running Microsoft Windows 98, you may receive the following error message:
Cannot connect to the Web server http://YourWebAddress

The server could not be located, or may be too busy to respond. Please check your typing or check to make sure the Web server is available.

CAUSE

This problem may occur if the Web folders feature on your computer has been damaged.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, follow these steps:
  1. Quit Microsoft Publisher 2002.
  2. Click Start, point to Find, and then click Files or Folders.
  3. In the Named box, type oledb32.dll, and then click Find Now.
  4. After you find the oledb32.dll file, leave the Search Results window open.
  5. Click Start, and then click Run.
  6. In the Open box, type regsvr32, and then drag the Oledb32.dll file from the Search Results window to the Open box in the Run dialog box.

    Note The Open box should now contain a path statement that is similar to the following:

    regsvr32 "C:\Program Files\Common Files\SYSTEM\oledb32.dll"

  7. Click OK.

    You should receive a message that is similar to the following:DLLRegisterServer in C:\Program Files\Common Files\SYSTEM\oledb32.dll Succeeded
