"The dictionary for this language was not found" error message when you try to use Handwriting on the Language bar in Word 2003 (831591)

SYMPTOMSIf you start Microsoft Office Word 2003 and then click
Handwriting on the Language bar, when you
click Write Anywhere, Writing Pad, or
Drawing Pad, you may receive the following error
message: The dictionary for this language was not found.
Make sure that the Input Method Editor (IME) for this language is properly
installed. CAUSEThis problem may occur if you install the Japanese
Multilingual User Interface Pack or the Chinese Traditional (CHT) Multilingual
User Interface Pack with the English version of Word 2003.WORKAROUNDTo work around this problem, do one of the following:
- When you receive the error message that is described in the
"Symptoms" section, click to select the Don't show this message
again check box, and then click OK.
- Install the language-specific version of Word 2003 that you
want to use. For example, install one of the following programs as appropriate
for your situation:
- Microsoft Office Word 2003 (Chinese
Traditional)
- Microsoft Office Word 2003 (Japanese)
