You Are Prompted to Reactivate Windows After You Upgrade to Virtual PC 2004 (831502)

SYMPTOMS

When you upgrade from a previous version of Virtual PC, or when you make significant changes to your virtual machine configuration, you may be prompted to reactivate your Microsoft Windows XP guest operating system.

CAUSE

This behavior may occur if the Windows XP installation appears to have been installed on a new (additional) computer.

RESOLUTION
