FIX: You cannot configure system properties for use with the Advanced Search feature in SharePoint Portal Server 2003 (831204)

The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Office SharePoint Portal Server 2003

SYMPTOMS

In Microsoft Office SharePoint Portal Server 2003, you may not be able to configure system properties such as the Keywords property for use with the Advanced Search feature. For example, you cannot configure Microsoft Office keywords for use with the Advanced Search feature. On the Manage Properties of Crawled Content page of your portal site, when you expand urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office and then click Keywords, the Include this property in Advanced Search options setting in the Edit Property area of the Edit Property page is unavailable.

CAUSE

This problem occurs because the Include this property in Advanced Search options setting is not configured for system properties that are associated with crawled content, such as the Keywords property. You cannot turn on this setting in the Search Options area of the Edit Property page.
