OFFXP: Windows Explorer Starts When You Click Clips Online (831175)

SYMPTOMSWhen you click Clips Online on the
Insert Clip Art task pane (on the Insert
menu, point to Picture, and then click Clip
Art) in a Microsoft Office XP program, you do not go to the
Clip Art and Media section of the Microsoft Office Online Web
site. Instead, Microsoft Windows Explorer starts.CAUSEThis behavior occurs after you install the hotfix that is
described in the following Microsoft Knowledge Base article: 818636 OFFXP: Program Stops Responding When You Insert TIFF File in Document or E-Mail Message
Important This problem occurs if your Mso.dll file is version 10.00.00.5215
or later. This hotfix may be contained in other hotfixes to the Mso.dll file.
To determine the version of the Mso.dll file that you have installed,
see the "More Information" section of this article. WORKAROUNDTo work around this behavior, follow these steps:
- Start your Web browser, and then visit the following
Microsoft Web site:
- Click Clip Art and Media.
- Browse the various collections and find the clip art that
you want.
- Do one of the following:
- Copy the clip art that you want. To do so, follow these
steps:
- Click the down-arrow of the clip art that you want,
and then click Copy.
- In your Microsoft Office program, click
Paste on the Edit menu.
- Download the clip art to your computer. To do so,
follow these steps:
- Select the check box of the clip art that you want
to download. This will add the clip art to your Selection Basket.
- After you have the clip art that you want added to
your Selection Basket, click Download n
item(s).
Note n is the number of clip art items that
you selected to download. - Click Accept to the Terms
of Use.
- Click Continue if you receive the
following message:The Microsoft Office Template and
Media Control has been successfully installed.
- Click Download Now.
- In the File Download dialog box,
click Open.
- The clips that you downloaded are added to the
Microsoft Clip Organizer in the Downloaded Clips
section.
- Click the down-arrow of the clip art that you want
to insert, and then click Copy.
- In your Office program, click
Paste on the Edit menu.
