FIX: ServiceHeader GlobalUsageCode Field Is Set to "Production" (831148)

The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft BizTalk Server Accelerator for RosettaNet, version 2.0

SYMPTOMS

The RosettaNet standard states that the /ServiceHeader/ProcessControl/GlobalUsageCode field can have a value of either Production or Test.

If a trading partner sends in a message that has the /ServiceHeader/ProcessControl/GlobalUsageCode field set to Test, it expects that the response message and the acknowledge message will have this field set to Test also. However, Microsoft BizTalk Server Accelerator for RosettaNet generates response messages and acknowledge messages that have the /ServiceHeader/ProcessControl/GlobalUsageCode field set to Production. Therefore, the interoperation may not succeed.

RESOLUTION

A supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that is described in this article. Only apply it to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix may receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, we recommend that you wait for the next BizTalk Server Accelerator for RosettaNet 2.0 service pack that contains this hotfix.

To resolve this problem immediately, contact Microsoft Product Support Services to obtain the hotfix. For a complete list of Microsoft Product Support Services telephone numbers and information about support costs, visit the following Microsoft Web site:Note In special cases, charges that are ordinarily incurred for support calls may be canceled if a Microsoft Support Professional determines that a specific update will resolve your problem. The usual support costs will apply to additional support questions and issues that do not qualify for the specific update in question.

The English version of this hotfix has the file attributes (or later) that are listed in the following table. The dates and times for these files are listed in coordinated universal time (UTC). When you view the file information, it is converted to local time. To find the difference between UTC and local time, use the Time Zone tab in the Date and Time tool in Control Panel.
   Date Time Size File name
   ------------------------------------------------
   11-Nov-2003 02:00 69,899 Anytoresponse_v2.xml
   11-Nov-2003 02:00 68,944 Rnmsgtoackall_v2.xml
Note Because of file dependencies, the most recent hotfix that contains these files may also contain additional files.

Important Do not open and then save the two map files AnyToResponse_v2.xml and RNMsgToAckAll_v2.xml in BizTalk Editor. They contains some Extensible Stylesheet Language for Transformations (XSLT) code that may be lost if they are opened and saved in BizTalk Editor.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section of this article.
