IPG Exporter Does Not Convert Program Data Files to Guide Listings if the Provider Name and the Provider Prefix Do Not Match (831101)
The information in this article applies to:
SYMPTOMSThe IPG Exporter service creates client data files that the Microsoft TV Interactive Program Guide (IPG) client uses for guide listings. The exporter converts the character data sets from the default 1252 to the value that the EPGPreferences.xml file specifies. However, the export may create the data files but may not convert the character data sets.CAUSEThis problem may occur if the Tribune Media
Services (TMS) Provider Name value that appears in the IPGConfig.cfg file does not match the TMS Provider Prefix value that appears in the EPGPreferences.xml file.RESOLUTIONMake sure that the Provider Name value and the Provider Prefix value match.MORE INFORMATIONWhen the exporter runs, it calls sp_get_provider_prefix from the electronic program guide (EPG) database. If the return value is NULL, the call does not return an error. This behavior may cause problems because the TMS prefix helps to define whether the character set must be converted. Use this query to verify that the return value is not NULL.REFERENCES
