Bootstrap Process Fails While It Is Applying Access-Control Lists (831099)

The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft TV Foundation Server 1.0

SYMPTOMS

When you run Bootstrap on the controller, the bootstrap process may fail while it is applying access-control lists (ACLs) to the Microsoft TV (MSTV) Web site that is located in the %TVServerInstall%\Wwwroot folders.

CAUSE

This problem might occur because an error occurred in the PUP file installation.

RESOLUTION

When you install the PUP file on the MSTV controller, you receive a prompt to specify the Web site to use. By default, the Web site is DEFAULT WEB SITE. You must change this setting to MSTVSERVER Public Web Site. You must also completely remove all the existing Microsoft Commerce Server information before you reinstall the PUP file.

To reinstall the PUP file on the MSTV controller by using the MSTVSERVER Public Web Site setting, follow these steps:
  1. Remove Default Web Site from Commerce Server Manager.
  2. Remove MSTV Global Resources from Commerce Server Manager.
  3. Remove the MSTV Web site folders from the Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS) Web site that is named Default Web Site.
  4. Delete any MSTV sites from the C:\Inetpub\Wwwroot folders that are located on the MSTV controller.
  5. Reinstall the PUP file. When you receive the prompt to specify the Web site to use, select MSTVSERVER Public Web Site.
  6. When you receive the prompt to re-create the database, click Yes.
  7. Run Bootstrap again.
