"Employee name "<Name>" is not in your organization data" error message when you use the Organization Chart Wizard to add a name from an Exchange Server directory to an organization chart in Visio 2003 (831068)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Office Visio Professional 2003
- Microsoft Office Visio Standard 2003
SYMPTOMSIn Microsoft Office Visio 2003, when you use the
Organization Chart Wizard to create an organization chart from data that is
stored in a Microsoft Exchange Server directory, you may find that some names
are imported to the organization chart and some names are not. When you click
I want the wizard to automatically break my organization chart across
pages, and then you type the name of the person who you want to add in
the Name at top of page box, you receive the following error
message: Employee name "Name"
is not in your organization data. You receive this error message even
if the name of the person who you want to import is in your organization
data. CAUSEThis problem may occur if both of the following conditions
are true:
- The person who you want to import to your organization
chart does not have any other person in the organization that reports directly
to him or to her.
- The person who you want to import to your organization
chart does not report to another person in the organization.
In this situation, the Organization Chart Wizard displays an
incorrect error message and does not give you an option to add that name to the
organization chart. STATUSMicrosoft
has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed
in the "Applies to" section of this article.
