New page is not created with rule lines in OneNote 2003 (831033)

SYMPTOMS

When you turn on the Create all new pages with rule lines option (on the Tools menu, click Options, and then click Display) in Microsoft Office OneNote 2003, the rule lines may not appear when you create a new page.

CAUSE

This behavior may occur when you create a new page that contains stationery.

For more information about stationery in OneNote, click Microsoft Office OneNote Help on the Help menu, type stationery in the Search for box in the Assistance pane, and then click Start searching to view the topic.

WORKAROUND

To work around this behavior, follow these steps:
  1. Start OneNote 2003.
  2. Open the page that contains stationery that you also want to contain rule lines.
  3. On the View menu, point to Rule Lines, and then click the type of rule line that you want.
Note You must repeat these steps for each page that contains stationery that you also want to contain rule lines.
