You receive an "This version of Microsoft Office Visio cannot display DNG files" error message when you open a Visio file in Visio 2003 (830918)

SYMPTOMS

When you try to open a Microsoft Visio file (*.vsd) in Microsoft Office Visio 2003, you may receive the following error message:
One or more DGN files were detected in this drawing. This version of Microsoft Office Visio cannot display DGN files. To see the drawing as intended, open the drawing in a previous version of Visio that can display DGN files.

CAUSE

This behavior may occur if the Visio file contains a DGN graphic. Visio 2003 does not support the DGN graphics format.

WORKAROUND

To work around this behavior, try to open the file in Microsoft Visio 2002 or earlier.
