WORKAROUND

To work around this issue, use one of the following methods.

Method 1

Do not change the default computer name when you install an OEM version of Windows XP.

Method 2

Manually select the Automatically adjust clock for daylight savings changes check box. To do this, follow these steps:

Click Start, and then click Control Panel.
Double-click Date and Time, and then click the Time Zone tab.
Click to select the Automatically adjust clock for daylight savings changes check box, and then click OK.

The OEM can configure the Windows XP installation so that it does not display the Time Zone page when the OOBE Wizard runs. The Time Zone page permits you (the end user) to select the Time Zone setting for the computer. This page is displayed when you run the OOBE Wizard if the TimeZone=1 line is present in the [options] section of the Oobeinfo.ini file. If the OEM removes this line or sets the value to TimeZone=0, this prevents the Time Zone page from being displayed.
