You cannot drag a shape from to PowerPoint, to Word, or to the desktop from Visio 2003 (829933)

SYMPTOMSWhen you try to drag or to paste a shape from Microsoft
Office Visio 2003 to one of the following locations, you receive a message in
that location.
Microsoft Office PowerPoint 2003 or Microsoft PowerPoint 2002The server application, source file, or
item can't be found, or returned an unknown error. You may need to reinstall
the server application.Microsoft Windows DesktopUnable to create and store scrap/shortcut
object No such interface supported Microsoft Office Word 2003 or Microsoft Word 2002There is insufficient memory. Save the
document now.CAUSEThis problem may occur when you drag or paste a shape that
was found by using the Search for Shapes feature in Visio 2003.WORKAROUNDTo work around this problem when you want to drag or paste a
shape from Visio 2003, do not search for the shape. Instead, open the stencil
that contains the shape in Visio 2003, and then drag or paste the shape to the
location that you want. For example, to drag or paste the
Desk shape, follow these steps:
- Start Visio 2003.
- On the File menu, point to
New, point to Building Plan, and then click
Home Plan (US Units) or click Home Plan
(Metric).
- In the Shapes task pane, click the
Furniture (US units) stencil or click the Furniture
(Metric) stencil.
- Do one of the following:
- Drag the Desk shape to the location
that you want.
-or- - Right-click the Desk shape, and then
click Copy.
In the location that you want,
right-click, and then click Paste.
