Special Pool Feature May Cause a 0x000000CD Stop Error (829729)

SYMPTOMS

After you turn on the Kernel Special Pool feature in Microsoft Windows 2000, you may receive the following stop error:
0x000000CD (PAGE_FAULT_BEYOND_END_OF_ALLOCATION).

CAUSE

This problem may occur if both of the following conditions are true:
  • You have turned on the Kernel Special Pool feature for all pool tags.
  • A device driver that is not compatible with the special pool feature is installed on your computer.
