Freelancer 1.0: Multiplayer Account ID Is Not Found (829152)
The information in this article applies to:
SYMPTOMSWhen you click Multiplayer on the main menu
of Microsoft Freelancer, you may receive a message that is similar to the
following:Your account ID is shown below. This ID is
used to identify your characters on all of the servers on which you play
Freelancer. You will need this ID if you ever have to re-install Freelancer.
There is a shortcut on Freelancer's start menu that will display your ID for
printing or copying. If you already have an account ID (perhaps because this is
your first time to play after re-installing Freelancer), enter it below,
replacing the ID that is there now. When finished, press the CREATE button. To
cancel and return to the main menu, press the MAIN MENU
button.However, the text box that displays your account
identification number may be empty. Also, if you start the Examine My Account
ID tool, you may receive the following message: Your
account ID is <Not Found>. Note To start the Examine My Account ID tool, follow these steps:
- Click Start, point to All
Programs.
- Point to Microsoft Games, point to
Freelancer, and then click Examine My Account
ID.
CAUSEThis issue may occur if you do not have the most recent
updates for Freelancer.RESOLUTIONTo resolve this issue, install the Freelancer Update. To do
so, follow these steps:
- Visit the following Microsoft Web site:
- Click Game Updates, and then click the
link to start the download process.
