The "Send To" commands are unavailable in Streets and Trips and in MapPoint when you try to send a map (829136)

SYMPTOMSWhen you try to send a map from Microsoft Streets and Trips or from Microsoft MapPoint,
the Send To commands on the File menu are
unavailable.CAUSEThis behavior occurs if Microsoft Outlook is not your
default e-mail program.WORKAROUNDTo work around this behavior by using your current e-mail
program, follow these steps to send a map:
- Create the map that you want.
- On the Edit menu, click Copy
map.
- Start your e-mail program, and then open or compose a new
e-mail message.
- Right-click in the body of the message, and then click
Paste.
If you want to send directions in an e-mail message by using
your current e-mail program, follow these steps:
- Create the map that you want, and then plan the
route.
- On the Edit menu, click Copy
Directions.
- Open a new e-mail message or use the same e-mail message
where you pasted the map.
- Right-click in the body of the message, and then click
Paste.
If you have Outlook, you can use all the Send To commands in Streets and Trips. To work around this behavior,
select Outlook as the default mail handler. To select Outlook as the default
mail handler, follow these steps:
- Start Microsoft Internet Explorer.
- In Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.x, on the
View menu, click Internet Options.
In Microsoft Internet Explorer 5 or Internet Explorer 6, on the
Tools menu, click Internet
Options. - On the Programs tab, in the
Mail list or in the E-mail list, click
Microsoft Outlook, and then click
OK.
Another option is to install Outlook and then set Microsoft
Outlook Express as the default mail handler. You can then use the Send To command as an attachment feature. To do so, follow these steps:
- Start Internet Explorer.
- In Internet Explorer 4.x, on the View
menu, click Internet Options.
In Internet Explorer 5
or Internet Explorer 6, on the Tools menu, click
Internet Options. - On the Programs tab, in the
Mail list or in the E-mail list, click
Microsoft Outlook Express, and then click OK.
