Shape Colors That Are Set in the ShapeSheet Are Displayed as Black (828968)

SYMPTOMSWhen you open a drawing in Microsoft Office Visio 2003,
shapes that contain custom ShapeSheet formulas to specify fill color may be
displayed with black as the fill color.CAUSEThis problem may occur when all the following conditions are
true:
- The drawing was created in Microsoft Visio 2002 and was
saved in the default Visio drawing (.vsd) format.
- The number of colors in the drawing exceeds 228.
- The drawing is opened in Visio 2003.
WORKAROUNDTo work around this problem, follow these steps:
- Open the drawing in Visio 2003.
- On the File menu, click Save
As.
- In the Save As dialog box, click
XML Drawing (*.vdx) as the type of file to save, and then
click Save.
- On the File menu, click
Close to close the drawing.
- Reopen the .vdx file that you created in step 3.
On the File menu, click Open, click
the .vdx drawing, and then click Open. The shape colors from
the ShapeSheet are now displayed correctly in the drawing. - On the File menu, click Save
As, click Drawing (*.vsd) as the type of file to
save, and then click Save.
Notice that the colors are displayed correctly. STATUSMicrosoft
has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed
