The Administrative Time template is not available in Project Professional 2003 (828959)

SYMPTOMS

When you try to start a new project that uses the Administrative Time template in Microsoft Office Project Professional 2003, the Enterprise Templates tab does not appear and the Administrative Time template is therefore not available.

CAUSE

This problem occurs when you upgrade from Microsoft Project 2002 to Project Professional 2003.

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, create the Administrative Time template manually. To do this, follow these steps:
  1. Start Project Professional 2003, and then connect to the Project server by using an account that has administrative permissions.
  2. On the File menu, click New, and then click Blank Project.
  3. On the File menu, click Save As.
  4. In the Save As dialog box, type Administrative Time in the File name box.

    In the Save as type box, select Template, and then click Save two times.
  5. On the View menu, click More Views.
  6. In the More Views dialog box, click Task Sheet, and then click Apply.
  7. Right-click the header of the Duration column, and then click Hide Column.
  8. Repeat step 7 to hide the Start column, the Finish column, and the Predecessors column.
  9. Create the following tasks:
    • Vacation
    • Sick
    • Holiday
    • Bereavement
    • Civic Duty
    • Military Duty
    • Family Leave
    • Training
    • Time Off Without Pay
    To create these tasks, follow these steps:
    1. On the Insert menu, click New Task.
    2. Under Task Name, type Vacation, and then press ENTER.
    3. Type the name of the next task, and then press ENTER.
    4. Repeat steps b and c until all nine tasks are created.
