SYMPTOMSOn a computer that is running Microsoft Windows 2000 with Service Pack 4 (SP4), during a Microsoft NetMeeting remote session, you can regain control of the remote computer by pressing any key on your keyboard. In Windows 2000 with Service Pack 3 (SP3), you can regain control only by using the ESC
key.CAUSEThis behavior is designed to make it easier to regain
control in case someone at the remote site tries to take control from the
remote user.STATUS This
behavior is by design.MORE INFORMATIONThis change in Windows
2000 SP4 is a security-related fix that affects the NetMeeting remote session host computer
and prevents a person just passing by from accessing and retaining control of a
remote desktop that is under the control of NetMeeting.
