Horizontal Scrolling Control for Your Wireless Optical Desktop Elite Is Not Available in Control Panel (828674)

SYMPTOMS

When you try to adjust the horizontal scrolling control for your Wireless Optical Desktop Elite mouse, there is no way to edit this parameter in the Mouse Settings page in Control Panel. This issue may occur even though you have Microsoft IntelliType Pro 5.0 installed.

CAUSE

This feature requires Microsoft IntelliPoint 5.0.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, install IntelliPoint 5.0 by using the CD that came with your Wireless Optical Desktop Elite mouse. To do this, follow these steps:
  1. Put the Setup CD in your CD-ROM drive.

    If the Setup program starts automatically, follow the prompts to install IntelliPoint 5.0
  2. If the Setup program does not start automatically, click Start, click My Computer, and then double click your CD-ROM drive.
  3. Double click Setup, and then follow the prompts to install IntelliPoint 5.0
