After the file lock expires in OneNote 2003, the shared sections remain as read-only text (828619)

SYMPTOMSWhen you open a OneNote section from a network shared folder or a volume in Microsoft Office OneNote 2003, the OneNote section remains read-only to other users, even though the file lock has expired for this One Note section in your copy of OneNote 2003.CAUSEThis problem occurs when you have the Input Method Editor (IME) running in OneNote 2003.WORKAROUNDUse one of the following methods to work around this problem: - Turn off IME and do not use OneNote 2003 until your file lock time expires. The default file lock time is five minutes.
- Quit OneNote 2003.
- Close the shared section.
- Click another section tab in OneNote 2003.
- Click Navigate to parent folder in your notes and then wait 90 seconds for the file lock to drop.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.
