COM+ applications are not removed after you remove an application from Internet Information Services (IIS) (828573)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Application Center 2000
- Microsoft Application Center 2000 SP1
- Microsoft Application Center 2000 SP2
SYMPTOMSOn a high-isolated Web application in Internet Information Services (IIS) on an Application Center 2000 cluster, if you remove the application from the cluster controller, the corresponding COM+ application in Component Services is not correctly removed. Although the corresponding application is removed from the controller, the corresponding application is not removed from the members of the cluster.CAUSEThis problem occurs because the trigger that removes the application does not work. If you click the Remove button for the application in the IIS properties for the Web site, this action does not trigger the System application in Component Services. The System application handles the trigger that is required to remove the application from the members of the cluster.RESOLUTIONTo resolve this problem, change
the isolation level of the Web application: On the cluster controller, in IIS properties, change the isolation level from high to medium (or to low). This removes the COM+ high-isolated application from all members of the cluster.
