Text reflows after you change the publication type in Publisher 2003 (828508)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Office Publisher 2003
- Microsoft Office Publisher 2003 with Digital Image Pro
SYMPTOMSIf you change the publication type (in the Page
Setup dialog box) for a Microsoft Office Publisher 2003 publication,
some text in some text frames might reflow. This might occur, for example, if
you change the publication type from Custom Banner to Custom, or from Envelope
to Full Page.CAUSEThis issue occurs if both of the following conditions are
true:
- The margin guides for the publication were set to something
other than one inch on all sides.
- Paragraphs have the Align text to baseline
guides feature enabled.
When you change the publication type, the publication margin
guides are reset to 1 inch on all sides. Because the baseline guides are
calculated from the margin guides, any text that aligns to them may change
position. RESOLUTIONThis resolution assumes that you are working on a copy of
the publication. If you are working on the original publication, close it
without saving, and then make a copy to work on. To resolve this issue, follow
these steps:
- Open the original publication.
- On the Arrange menu, click Layout
Guides.
- On the Margin Guides tab, note the values
in the Left, Right, Top, and
Bottom fields (or the Inside,
Outside, Top, and Bottom
fields if the publication is set up as a booklet).
- Open the copy of the publication that you are editing.
- On the Arrange menu, click Layout
Guides.
- Change the margin guides to match those in the original
publication.
- Click OK.
