When you try to paste text from one Microsoft Office Word 2003 document as a link in another Microsoft Word document, you may receive an error message that is similar to the following:
Word cannot obtain the data for Word.Document.8.link
Note This error message does not always occur.

WORKAROUND

To work around this behavior, save, close and then reopen the source document.
