You may receive error messages when you install Outlook 2003 with Business Contact Manager (828240)

SYMPTOMS

When you try to install Microsoft Office Outlook 2003 with Business Contact Manager, you may receive the following error messages:
The system file c:\windows\system\sqlunirl.dll could not be copied into the DLL cache. The specific error code is 0x01000002L [The exception package is older than what is on the machine.] This file is necessary to maintain system stability.
- and -
The system file c:\windows\system\dbnetlib.dll could not be copied into the DLL cache. The specific error code is 0x01000002L [The exception package is older than what is on the machine.] This file is necessary to maintain system stability.

CAUSE

This problem occurs if one of the following conditions is true:
  • The File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks option in Microsoft Windows XP is not turned on or is not installed.

    -or-
  • You have installed Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Service Pack 3 (SP3) on a computer that is running Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 1 (SP1).

RESOLUTION

Use the one of the following methods to resolve this problem.

Method 1: Turn On or Install the File and Print Sharing for Microsoft Networks Option:

To install or turn on the File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks option in Windows XP, follow these steps:
  1. Click Start, click Control Panel, and then double-click Network Connections.
  2. Right-click the network connection that you want to configure, and then click Properties.
  3. Click the General tab (for a local area connection), or click the Networking tab (for all other connections).
  4. Verify that the File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks option is in the list of components for the connection.

    Note If the File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks option is not in the list of components for the connection, follow these steps:
    1. Click Install.
    2. Click to select the Service check box, and then click Add.
    3. In the Manufacturers box, click Microsoft.
    4. In the Network Services box, click File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks, and then click OK.
  5. Click OK.

Method 2: Install Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Service Pack 3a (SP3a)
