BUG: You can delete predefined fields in columns and add custom fields to columns in the Business Contact Manager folder in Outlook 2003 (828238)

SYMPTOMS

You can delete predefined fields in columns and add custom fields to columns in the Business Contact Manager folder in Microsoft Office Outlook 2003 with Business Contact Manager.

Additionally, certain Business Contact Manager features do not function when you delete predefined fields in columns in the Business Contact Manager folder, and you do not receive error messages to indicate that these features are not functioning.

Note You generally cannot delete predefined fields in columns or add custom fields to columns in the Business Contact Manager folder in Outlook with Business Contact Manager 2003.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, you must remove and reinstall Outlook with Business Contact Manager 2003. To do so:
  1. Click Start, and then click Control Panel.
  2. Double-click Add or Remove Programs.
  3. Click Microsoft Office 2003 with Business Contact Manager.
  4. Click Remove, and then follow the onscreen instructions.

    Note This does not remove your data or personal messages from the computer.
  5. Restart the computer.
  6. Put the Microsoft Office 2003 with Business Contact Manager CD in your CD-ROM or DVD-ROM drive.
  7. Click Install Program.

    If your computer has the option to automatically run CD-ROMs with a CD-ROM changer turned off, follow these steps:
    1. Click Start, click Control Panel.
    2. Double-click Add or Remove Programs.
    3. Click Add New Programs, and then click CD or Floppy.
    4. Click Next, and then click Finish.
  8. Follow the onscreen instructions to install Outlook with Business Contact Manager 2003.
