"Stop 0x1E" Error Message on Computers That Have Third-Party Filter Driver Products (828154)

SYMPTOMS

You may intermittently receive a "Stop 0x1E" error message on computers that have third-party filter driver products (for example, antivirus software) installed.

RESOLUTION

A supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that this article describes. Apply it only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem.
