Color Schemes dialog box does not open as expected when you right-click an empty area of your TQM flowchart and then click Color Schemes in Visio 2003 (827897)

SYMPTOMS

In the Japanese-language version of Microsoft Office Visio 2003, when you use the TQM Diagram template in the Business Process category to create a TQM flowchart, and you right-click an empty area of your diagram, and then click Color Schemes, nothing happens. The Color Schemes dialog box does not open as expected.

CAUSE

This problem occurs because in the Japanese-language version of Visio, the Color Schemes dialog box does not open correctly when you right-click an empty area of a flowchart that is based on the TQM Diagram template, and then click Color Schemes.

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, open the Color Schemes dialog box by using the Tools menu. To do so, follow these steps:
  1. Start Visio and open your TQM flowchart drawing.
  2. On the Tools menu, point to Add-Ons, point to Visio Extras, and then click Color Schemes.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.

A color scheme determines the set of colors that are used in your drawing. When a Visio drawing type supports color schemes, the template and shapes for that drawing contain certain settings and styles that make color schemes possible.

Note If you drag a shape from another drawing type that does not support color schemes to a drawing that does, or if you create a new shape that does not support the same color scheme settings as the drawing, the drawing may not display colors from the current color scheme.
