"Page cannot be displayed" error message when you try to view a Visio 2003 drawing that is saved as a Web page on an FTP server (827895)

SYMPTOMSWhen you save your Microsoft Visio drawing as a Web page,
and you store it in a folder on a File Transfer Protocol (FTP) server, you may
receive an error message that is similar to the following when you try to view
the Web page in Microsoft Internet Explorer: The page
cannot be displayed.
Cannot find server or DNS
error. CAUSEThis problem may occur if all the following conditions are
true:
- You use a language version of Microsoft Office Visio 2003
that uses Multi-Byte Character Set (MBCS) characters. For example, you may use
one of the following language versions of Visio:
- Simplified Chinese
- Traditional Chinese
- Japanese
- Korean
- You save your Visio drawing as a Web page and store it in a
folder on an FTP site in Microsoft Internet Information Services
(IIS).
- The file name of the Web page that you saved contains MBCS
characters.
In this situation, the Visio drawing that you save as a Web page
is not saved correctly to the FTP server. As a result, you cannot access the
Web page on the FTP server. WORKAROUNDTo work around this problem, do one of the following as
appropriate to your situation:
- If you want to save your Visio drawing as a Web page and
store it in a folder on an FTP site in IIS, do not use MBCS characters in the
file name.
-or- - If you want to use MBCS characters in the file name of a
Visio drawing that you save as a Web page, use Hypertext Transfer Protocol
(HTTP) to publish the Web page to a Web site in IIS.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.
