Errors in the UDDI Services Web User Interface Are Not Recorded in the Application Event Log (827823)

Hotfix Information

A supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that is described in this article. Only apply it to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix may receive additional testing. File Information

After you install this hotfix, you must modify the Windows registry to enable the logging of the events that are described in the "Symptoms" section of this article. To do this, follow these steps:

1. Click Start, click Run, type regedit in the Open box, and then click OK.
   
   Warning If you use Registry Editor incorrectly, you may cause serious problems that may require you to reinstall your operating system. Microsoft cannot guarantee that you can solve problems that result from using Registry Editor incorrectly. Use Registry Editor at your own risk.
2. Locate, and then click the following registry subkey:

   HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\UDDI

3. Right-click UDDI, point to New, and then click Key.
4. Name the new key Web.
5. Right-click Web, point to New, and then click DWORD Value.
6. Name the new DWORD value WriteErrorsToEventLog.
7. Right-click WriteErrorsToEventLog, and then click Modify.
8. In the Value data box, type 1, and then click OK.
9. Quit Registry Editor.
10. Restart Internet Information Services (IIS). To do this, type the following command at a command prompt, and then press ENTER:
