After you install this hotfix, you must modify the Windows registry to enable the logging of the events that are described in the "Symptoms" section of this article. To do this, follow these steps:
- Click Start, click Run, type regedit in the Open box, and then click OK.

Use Registry Editor at your own risk. - Locate, and then click the following registry subkey:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\UDDI
- Right-click UDDI, point to New, and then click Key.
- Name the new key Web.
- Right-click Web, point to New, and then click DWORD Value.
- Name the new DWORD value WriteErrorsToEventLog.
- Right-click WriteErrorsToEventLog, and then click Modify.
- In the Value data box, type 1, and then click OK.
- Quit Registry Editor.
- Restart Internet Information Services (IIS). To do this, type the following command at a command prompt, and then press ENTER:
