Results are different before and after you save an Auto Corrected image in Picture Manager 2003 (827758)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Office Picture Manager 2003
SYMPTOMSIn Microsoft Office Picture Manager 2003, after you use the
Auto Correct feature to correct an image, when you save the image it appears a
little darker than it did before you saved the auto corrected
file.CAUSEThis issue may occur when auto correction is performed on an
image when the zoom is set to Fit. In this case, auto
correction is applied to the scaled image instead of the full-sized image,
resulting in a small color differentiation. Also, when you save the auto
corrected file, the image is compressed. File compression can change the noise
level of the histogram, making the compressed image file different from the
unsaved file. WORKAROUNDTo work around this issue, zoom the image to 100% before you
use the Auto Correct feature. However, there still might be a small color
variation because of the file compression during the save operation.
