You receive an "Invalid Field Value" error message when you check in a document and specify a date by using a Bulgarian date format in SharePoint Portal Server 2003 (827757)

SYMPTOMS

When you check in a document to a backward-compatible document library in SharePoint Portal Server 2003, and you specify a date that uses the Bulgarian date format "dd.mm.yyyy r" (without the quotation marks) in the DATE box of the Document profile area of the Document Library page, you may experience the following symptoms:
  • When you type a date in the DATE box by using the Bulgarian date format "dd.mm.yyyy r" (without the quotation marks), and then click Save, you receive the following error message:
    Invalid Field Value.
    You must enter a valid date for the "RESOURCE_LASTWRITETIME" property. You must enter a valid date for the "DATE" property. You must enter a valid date for the "DAV:getlastmodified" property.
  • When you type a date in the DATE box by using the "dd.mm.yyyy" format (without the quotation marks), or when you leave the DATE box blank and then click Save, you receive the following error message:
    Invalid Field Value.
    You must enter a valid date for the "RESOURCE_LASTWRITETIME" property. You must enter a valid date for the "DATE" property. You must enter a valid date for the "DAV:getlastmodified" property.

CAUSE

This problem may occur if all the following conditions are true:
  • The client components for backward-compatible document libraries are installed on the server.
  • You create a document profile that contains a property that uses the Date property type and you apply the document profile to documents in the document library.
  • The locale of the Web browser that you use is set to Bulgarian.
SharePoint Portal Server does not currently support Bulgarian date formats.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
