Either you receive an error message when you start Excel or the fill color is displayed incorrectly (827712)



The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Excel 2002
  • Microsoft Excel 2000

SYMPTOMS

In Microsoft Excel 2002 or in Microsoft Excel 2000, you may experience one of the following symptoms:
  • If you try to run Excel from a network location, you may receive the following error message when you start Excel:
    Microsoft Excel has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.
  • If you use a fill color in an Excel workbook, the fill color may not appear in the workbook. If you view the workbook in Print Preview or if you print your workbook, the fill color appears as expected.

CAUSE

This problem may occur when your user profile is damaged.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, delete your user profile, and then re-create your user profile.

Note If you are part of a network, your network administrator may have to re-create a user profile for you .
